Next language & culture trip in Athens for 2026:
August 31 - September 4 | Upper Beginner & Lower Intermediate only
This trip is for students who have started learning Greek or have been learning Greek for a while at the lower Intermediate level.
What you’ll do:
✓ Daily Greek classes with focus on speaking & listening and daily afternoon outdoor activities (20-25 hours)
✓ Small group format (up to 6 students in total)
✓ Exploration walks to significant locations in the centre of Athens & surrounding neighbourhoods
✓ Meal with our group
✓ Cultural activities recommendations: festivals, concerts, exhibitions etc.
Aside from our daily classes, we’ll take learning outside in our walks and visits to significant locations or “hidden gems”, and cultural spaces & museums where the present and the past of Athens is interconnected. You’ll learn about Athens as the capital of modern Greece, and find out about its history, architecture, important figures, daily culture and more. You’ll also join and have fun with our small group over drinks & super tasty dishes in my favourite old-school restaurant for our meal together. Every trip is different and includes seasonal and current events in the city.
These trips are also planned with current issues of gentrification in mind: with respect to the history of the downtown area, the daily life of the locals and the small local businesses which have been around for decades.

Each weekly program runs from Monday - Friday. The trip in September 2026 is for Beginner & Lower Intermediate level only.
Lesson time for a class of 6 students is 4 hours.
Small group (3-5 students) lesson time is 3 hours.
Semi-private (2 students) is 2 hours.
1-1 lessons: In case the registration is low in a group class, the student of that class will learn in a 1-1 format with the same fee. 1-1 class time is 90 minutes.
Students of 1-1 lessons take part in the activities with the students of all classes.

Price for the September 2026 language & culture trip in Athens: $455 USD (approx. 390 euros), until May 15th 2026. For registrations after May 15th, a late registration fee is applied ($100 USD or approx. 85 euros).
When combining or joining 2 trips within the same calendar year, you receive an extra discount of $50 USD.
The fee includes the lessons, participation to the planned outdoor learning, the “Athens activity booklet”, snacks, free Wi-Fi. Please note that the course book, travel expenses, accommodation, insurance, extra meals, or other expenses are not included in the fee.

The program helps you with all aspects of the language, with major focus on speaking, listening & communicating in Greek. Before you join any group or 1-1 class, you’ll take a placement test. In the class, you’ll work with a course book (Ελληνικά στο Π + Φ1, Ελληνικά στο Π + Φ2, or Ταξίδι στην Ελλάδα 3) & other materials. You will complete various activities, in both writing and speaking, in the class and as homework. The group classes are for up to 6 students.

1) Cancellations made by the student 90 calendar days or more before the program's start date: the student will receive a total refund, minus any bank fees. Example: The program's start date is May 14th, the last day to receive a full refund is February 13th.
2) Cancellations made by the student less than 90 calendar days OR by Danae Florou | Alpha Beta Greek: the student receives a credit for Greek programs or classes taught in person or virtually (valid for 2 years, from the day of cancellation). Please note that in case of cancellation by Danae Florou | Alpha Beta Greek, there is no refund for ticket, accommodation or any other expense made by the student.
3) For any language trip refund request, the student is charged any bank charges and fees. Please allow up to 2 weeks for the refund to show on your account.
