What is Chats/Κουβέντες Greek Club? How does it work?

Step 2: Come prepared to share your answer, ideas, stories in our speaking groups, depending on your speaking skills (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and schedule.

Step 3: Get feedback for your speaking on the spot: At the end of every group, your teachers share their group feedback on vocabulary, grammar points and new expressions you can use!

Doing conversation is scary in the beginning. Half the words you know fly out of your mind and aren't there when you open your mouth. However, speaking definitely consolidates learning and helps learning. Danae never makes you feel pressured.

I can do the program at my own pace, and the content is excellent. I like that there is content at different levels, that we have a short listening at the beginning of a lesson to introduce us to actual use of the word (at different speeds), that you explain things so well (with Greek subtitles and not English subtitles for the advanced level), and that we have an activity to do to reinforce the learning. I wouldn't change a thing! I also REALLY appreciate the monthly Q&A. It is so helpful to learn from the questions of other students.

How much does it cost?
Chats Greek Club: $225 one-time fee for 1 year
One-time fee for the whole learning year, September to August (this part is not a membership, and you don’t get charged again). Rejoin the Club next September if you wish.

Registration opens every September only. Exception: Students in the online lessons have 100% FREE access to the conversation groups & the Library, anytime they register to our online lessons.
How it works: Practice with the weekly speaking prompt, and drop in to chat with us in a small, fun & friendly group that works for your level & time zone.
Conversation groups run from September 15 - June 15 with the exception of: Christmas (2 weeks), Orthodox Easter (2 weeks), first week of March and on May 1st Labour Day. However, the Zoom link stays open 24/7, and you can meet with your peers during the holidays to review/chat anytime.

Usually 3-4 students join each group for 30-35 minutes. Sometimes the number might be slightly higher, up to 6-7 students and very rarely there are only 1-2 students.
In the rare event there is only 1 student joining, the Chat is 15 minutes long.

You can, since every week the speaking prompt & weekly lesson are different. To benefit the most from the Club, think about whether you are able to attend as many drop-in groups as possible, before you commit.

Many students attend other programs & courses. If you want to improve your speaking and practice weekly in a relaxed atmosphere, for a very affordable price, then the Chats/Κουβέντες Club is for you.
Who are your teachers?
Γεια σου! Είμαι η Δανάη Φλώρου και χαίρομαι που είσαι εδώ - I’m Danae Florou and I’m so glad you’re here! Passionate about speaking, communication & etymology, I started teaching Greek in 2003, as a young Greek Language & Literature student.
I created my first speaking programs in 2018 and Chats/Κουβέντες in 2023. Students from all over the world have been learning with this wonderful community of Greek learners, while gaining more confidence & speaking ease; This has been my goal since the beginning.
I’m looking forward to chatting with you in our Chats/Κουβέντες Greek Club!

Γεια σας! I’m Sofia Roilidou and I’m from Athens. Since 2004 I’ve been living in Madrid, Spain. I’ve been teaching Greek as a second/foreign language to ages 3-83 since 2000, when I graduated from the Philosophy, Education & Psychology department in the University of Athens.
I joined Chats in November 2024, and I’m facilitating the Friday & Sunday groups. My teaching approach is fun, methodic, and dynamic! I’m fascinated by how the human brain works and learns. I hold a PhD in Neuroscience and a Master’s degree on Cognitive Neuropsychology from the Complutense University of Madrid. I can’t wait for you to join us in this language adventure!

Γεια σας! I’m Evdoxia (Ευδοξία) and I’m from Athens. I’ve been teaching Greek as a second/foreign language, ancient Greek and History to children and adults since 2001. I am a graduate of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Athens, and I hold an MA in “Education and Human Rights”. Since 2022, I’ve been living in Lausanne, Switzerland, with my family. Aside from Greek, I speak English, French and Italian.
I love learning! As a teacher, I’m actively participating in trainings on: modern teaching techniques, adult education, human rights & intercultural education and teaching Greek as a second foreign language. I joined Chats in 2025 and you’ll find me chatting in the Monday group!
