ONLINE GREEK CLASSES – TERMS & CONDITIONS

1) LEARNING

Course Content:

Class content and learning objectives follow the CEFR and Ellinomatheia official levels (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Please note that these classes are aligned with the content and objectives of each level but are not exam-preparation courses.

Learning Materials:

All students receive access to online materials free of charge. Beginner and Intermediate students also use the official course books (Ελληνικά στο Πι+Φι 1 and Ελληνικά στο Πι+Φι 2, respectively). The cost of these books is not included in the class fee. Online materials include grammar and vocabulary activities, quizzes, audio, and video resources. Class recordings are not provided and are not part of the learning package.

Free Conversation Practice:

Students enrolled in online classes are entitled to free access to the Chats/Κουβέντες Greek Club (valued at $225), which offers up to four weekly practice sessions from September 15 to June 15 (approximately up to two hours of weekly speaking practice). Free access to Chats Greek Club requires enrollment in at least one full term during the 2025–2026 learning year.

Completion of a Level:

To complete a level, students may attend up to three terms (30 hours of class time), depending on their skills and learning needs. Each term consists of 10 classes (55 minutes each) delivered over 10 weeks, in addition to up to two hours of weekly speaking practice in the Chats Greek Club groups, plus assigned homework. In some cases, your teacher might suggest a different learning plan, depending on your individual needs.

2) STUDENT CONTRACT & ATTENDANCE

Student Responsibilities:

Upon registration, students agree to attend class on time, participate fully without distractions, and submit homework by the deadlines.

Our classes are inclusive spaces where every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued. Students are expected to treat all peers and instructors with courtesy and respect, regardless of their language, nationality, ethnic or cultural origin, religion or beliefs, gender, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic background, or any other characteristic. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behavior of any kind - whether verbal, written, or physical - is strictly not tolerated and may result in removal from the program. Negative comments, stereotypes, or mockery directed at any group are equally unacceptable regardless of who is in the room, and will be treated with the same seriousness as any other form of discrimination.

Missed Classes:

Each class has its own pace, even at the same level. If a student misses a class or a portion of a class, they cannot make up that class in another group or level. Students may only attend the class for which they are registered.

Placement:

We make every effort to place students in the class and level that best correspond to their skills and learning needs. However, final placement may require adjustment. In certain cases, a change of class or level may be recommended after the first lesson (or shortly thereafter) to ensure the most effective learning experience.

Punctuality:

Classes begin and end at the scheduled time. If a student arrives late, the class will still conclude at the allocated time.

Homework Submission:

Homework must be submitted by the deadline. Late submissions will not receive feedback.

Rescheduling by the Teacher:

If the teacher is unable to conduct a class due to a serious technical issue or emergency, the class (or remainder of the class) will be rescheduled. While every effort will be made to accommodate all students’ schedules, a mutually convenient time cannot be guaranteed.

3) REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Finality of Payments:

All payments are final. No refunds are issued once registration is complete, nor for missed lessons.

Non-Attendance:

Students who do not attend a lesson are not entitled to a refund, credit, or transfer of hours.

Exception – Serious Events:

In the case of a serious, unforeseen event (e.g. significant health matter) that prevents a student from completing a term (10 lessons), the student may request to transfer and complete the remaining lessons in another term, within one (1) calendar year, subject to class availability and level appropriateness.

4) TECHNOLOGY & CONFIDENTIALITY

Online Platforms:

Lessons are conducted via Zoom or Google Meet. Course materials are provided through Google Classroom. Other applications (such as WhatsApp or Viber) may be used as supplementary communication tools.

Confidentiality:

The teacher commits to keeping all student information strictly confidential.

5) AGREEMENT & DISPUTES

This document constitutes the entire agreement between student and teacher and supersedes all prior oral or written representations.

If a dispute arises that cannot be resolved by mutual consent, both parties agree to attempt good-faith mediation for up to 30 days after notice is given.

Enrollment in the class indicates the student’s acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and Conditions, as well as understanding of the services provided.
